Welcome to Wrightington Mossy Lea Primary School.

Mossy Lea School is a small, rural school in Wrightington, Lancashire. It was built in 1910, to provide for the educational needs of the growing community of Mossy Lea. Since then, it has stood at the heart of the village, and it fulfils a valuable role in the life of the community.  We are proud of all that has been achieved.

There is a strong sense of family at Mossy Lea and everyone works together in partnership to ensure that all children are happy and achieve well.  Visitors to the school frequently comment on the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the school.

In January of 2012 Ofsted judged the school to be a Good School with some outstanding features. We are very proud of this and the significant achievements of all our children. Over the past few years the school has achieved Healthy Schools Award, ICT Mark, Eco School Bronze Award and Forest School.

Our school is in a delightful setting, surrounded by extensive grassy areas which we utilise well for the benefit of the children.

The village of Wrightington is easily accessible from other areas of the county, as it is close to Junction 27 of the M6 motorway. Some of our children are from the immediate locality, but we also have many out-of-district children here at the school.

If you have any questions or would like to make an appointment to come and visit  please don't hesitate to contact us.  We are very happy to show you around our wonderful, happy school at a time that is suitable for yourself.
