Weekly Highlights at Mighty Mossy!
What a brilliant week we've had!
VE Day Celebrations
The children looked absolutely fantastic in their red, white, and blue as we marked VE Day with pride. We enjoyed a special picnic on the school field, took part in a reflective two-minute silence, and learned all about why we commemorate this important day in history.
Acorn Class Adventures
In English, we explored The Queen’s Knickers and The King’s Pants, using ‘think, pair, share’ to compare and contrast the two stories.
In Science, we investigated the impact of plastic pollution in our oceans and discussed how we can make a difference.
In History, we dived into the life of King Richard III and created fantastic fact files packed with interesting details!
Oak Class Highlights
In English, we completed our modelled diary entries, imagining what it would have been like to experience the 2015 Nepal earthquake.
In Science, we turned into bug hunters! Using an invertebrate classification key, we identified all sorts of fascinating creatures around our school grounds.
In Computing, we’ve been busy preparing design briefs ahead of creating our very own packaging next week using Purple Mash’s 2Design and Make.
A Special Message for Our Year 6s
Next week is a big one as our Year 6 children take their KS2 SATs. We want to remind them that they don’t need luck—they’ve already put in the hard work. Now it’s time for them to shine. We are so proud of everything they’ve achieved!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
