Weekly Highlights at Mossy Lea
What a week it's been! Full of excitement, creativity, resilience, and a lot to be proud of. Here's what's been happening around school…
Introducing... the Mighty Mossy Awards!
We’ve launched our brand new whole school reward scheme this week – the Mighty Mossy Awards! Linked to our school values – We stand together, We are considerate, We are responsible, We persevere, We aim high – these special awards are already creating a buzz! Children are proudly bringing them home, sparking conversations about the brilliant things they've achieved during their day. Keep an eye out – there’s a Mighty Mossy moment waiting to be celebrated in every child!
A Magical Transformation in Gardening Club
The Fairy Garden is complete – and it looks incredible! A big thank you to the children for their creativity and care, and an extra special shoutout to Mrs Lord for her support and guidance in Gardening Club. You've all done a fantastic job!
Adventure Awaits in Oak Class
Oak Class went on an unforgettable quest this week thanks to a visit from the Freshwater Theatre Company! They explored volcanoes – how they form, where they exist, and the different types – all through an exciting, interactive adventure. Learning has never been this explosive!
Royal Revelry in Acorn Class
Acorn Class stepped back in time for a Medieval Banquet, dressed as Kings and Queens. In true historical style, they sampled traditional fare and a few treats that modern-day royalty might enjoy. A truly regal way to explore their history topic!
To Our Year 6 Heroes
Year 6, you’ve completed your SATs – but what you’ve truly done goes beyond the tests.
You showed up. With courage. With focus. With strength.
You faced nerves and pressure and turned them into power. You walked in on Monday with shoulders back, hearts full, and pencils sharp – and you walked out stronger than ever.
You didn’t just do SATs. You grew. You proved to yourselves that you can do hard things – not just survive them, but thrive in them.
So tonight? Be proud. Be joyful. Be a kid.
Toast in bed. Camp in the garden. Stay up late. Watch a film. Whatever you do — let it celebrate the resilience you’ve discovered inside yourselves.
The real test wasn’t just in the paper — it was in your mind.
And you passed with flying colours.
