Week Ending 24th October

🌿 A Wonderful Week at Mighty Mossy! 🌿

What a fantastic end to our half term it’s been — full of learning, creativity, and fun!

🌰 Oak Class:
In English, we’ve been performing Autumn and Halloween-themed poetry — full of rhythm, rhyme and expression!
In French, we’ve been practising how to tell the time and say the days of the week.
In Computing and History, we used Boolean operators to refine our searches as we explored the Ancient and Modern Olympics.
To finish off in PE, we completed our Greek dance — the perfect end to our Olympic theme!

🌱 Acorn Class:
In English, the children read and wrote their own poems with repeating patterns — some wonderful creativity on show!
In History and Science, we revisited all the significant people we’ve learned about this half term and chose our favourites, explaining why they inspired us.
In DT, the children proudly finished their sewing unit, creating their very own felt puppets — fantastic work!

🌳 Forest Friday:
We created beautiful autumnal art using half real leaves and half oil pastels — the results were stunning!

🔥 Fire Brigade Visit:
Acorn Class learned how to keep safe in the event of a fire and ways to prevent them, while Oak Class found out all about bonfire and firework safety. A big thank you to our local firefighters!

🎉 Break the Rules Day:
What a fun way to end the term! The children loved wearing their own clothes, enjoying chocolate at breaktime, and having juice in their bottles! Together, we raised £75.00 for the PTFA — thank you for your support. The funds will go towards new playground equipment for everyone to enjoy!

🍁 Have a lovely half-term holiday!
We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, 4th November.
