πΏ Weekly Highlights at Mighty Mossy! πΏ
What an incredible start to the half term here at Mighty Mossy! Our classrooms have been buzzing with creativity, curiosity and excitement for new learning. π
β¨ Acorn Class
In Maths, Year 1 have been creating colourful repeating patterns, Year 2 have explored arrays and multiplication, and Year 3 have been mastering their 3 and 4 times tables.
In Geography, we looked at our local area, finding our school and familiar places using digital maps. πΊοΈ
In Science, we labelled the parts of the body, learning more about how amazing we are inside and out!
Our Reception children enjoyed getting creative and hands-on making playdough, while in Art the class painted beautiful Remembrance Day poppies to honour those who served. β€οΈπΊ
π³ Oak Class
It’s been a week full of mystery and imagination! In English, the class arrived to find mysterious clues — disappearing footsteps, a blue ribbon, a croquet set and a pair of binoculars! After lots of predictions and excitement, they discovered their new text: The Roundhill by Dick King-Smith, a mysterious ghost story that has everyone hooked. π»π
In Maths, Year 4 worked on the 9 and 11 times tables and used the compensation method, Year 5 explored multiples and factors, and Year 6 tackled simplifying fractions and adding fractions with different denominators.
In Science, Oak Class began their new Electricity topic β‘, while in DT they practised their back stitch for our upcoming cross-stitch Christmas cards. π Finally, in Geography, they learned how to use atlases to explore the world. π
