🌿 Weekly Highlights at Mighty Mossy! 🌿

What an incredible start to the half term here at Mighty Mossy! Our classrooms have been buzzing with creativity, curiosity and excitement for new learning. 💚

✨ Acorn Class
In Maths, Year 1 have been creating colourful repeating patterns, Year 2 have explored arrays and multiplication, and Year 3 have been mastering their 3 and 4 times tables.
In Geography, we looked at our local area, finding our school and familiar places using digital maps. 🗺️
In Science, we labelled the parts of the body, learning more about how amazing we are inside and out!
Our Reception children enjoyed getting creative and hands-on making playdough, while in Art the class painted beautiful Remembrance Day poppies to honour those who served. ❤️🌺

🌳 Oak Class
It’s been a week full of mystery and imagination! In English, the class arrived to find mysterious clues — disappearing footsteps, a blue ribbon, a croquet set and a pair of binoculars! After lots of predictions and excitement, they discovered their new text: The Roundhill by Dick King-Smith, a mysterious ghost story that has everyone hooked. 👻📖
In Maths, Year 4 worked on the 9 and 11 times tables and used the compensation method, Year 5 explored multiples and factors, and Year 6 tackled simplifying fractions and adding fractions with different denominators.
In Science, Oak Class began their new Electricity topic ⚡, while in DT they practised their back stitch for our upcoming cross-stitch Christmas cards. 🎄 Finally, in Geography, they learned how to use atlases to explore the world. 🌍
