Week Ending 23rd January

This Week at Mighty Mossy ![]()
Acorn Class:
Computing: The children continued developing their coding skills, this time inspired by the story The Princess and the Frog, combining storytelling with problem-solving.
Art: Acorns explored tints and tones, taking inspiration from the work of artist Zak Last and experimenting with colour in their own creations.
Oak Class:
Science: The children travelled inside the human body, role-playing as oxygenated and deoxygenated blood cells. They journeyed around different organs before returning to the heart and starting the cycle again, bringing the circulatory system to life.
History: Oaks explored the tomb of Fu Hao, examining the artefacts she was buried with. Using these clues, they inferred what her life may have been like and just how important she was within the Shang Dynasty.
Art: The class had great fun using AI tools to create their very own anime-style portraits, based on themselves — creativity and technology working hand in hand.
Book Club: After listening to Sophie Hern, illustrator and author, last week, the children had a go at drawing their own dragons, putting her tips and techniques into practice — with some fantastic results!
