Week Ending 6th February

This Week at Mighty Mossy ![]()
Acorn Class:
English/Science: The children researched different habitats in preparation for writing their non-chronological reports, linking scientific knowledge with informative writing.
Art: Acorns created landscapes using tints and shades, experimenting with light and dark to add depth to their artwork.
Balance Bikes (Chorley SSP): Our Reception children had a fantastic time learning how to ride balance bikes safely with their friends at St George’s — lots of smiles, confidence building, and fun!
Oak Class:
English: The class became magazine journalists, creating their own magazines all about China. Their work included a non-chronological report on the Shang Dynasty, instructions on how to make glitter fireworks, and a recount of Chinese New Year.
Science: Oaks explored the impact of legal drugs on the circulatory system, with Years 5 and 6 extending their learning to understand the effects of illegal drugs.
PE: The children are nearly ready to perform their Chinese-style dance, practising movements and routines with focus and enthusiasm.
Book Club: This week’s sessions were inspired by cartoon illustrations, sparking creativity and discussion.
Another brilliant week of learning, confidence building, and cultural exploration at Mighty Mossy ![]()
