Week Ending 13th March

This Week at Mighty Mossy ![]()
Another busy and enjoyable week of learning across the school!
Acorn Class:
English: The class generated adjectives to describe different types of weather, then used them to write descriptive sentences.
DT: The children tackled a fun challenge — how can we get our boats into the water without putting them in ourselves? Lots of creative thinking and teamwork as they tested different ideas.
RE: Acorns learned about Judaism and the festival of Sukkot, discovering why it is an important celebration.
Oak Class:
English: The children completed their modelled write, innovating their own Anansi story in the style of a comic strip.
Geography: Oaks took part in a treasure hunt, discovering interesting facts about Central Africa as they searched around the school.
PE: In gymnastics, the class have been working on counter balances, developing strength, balance, and cooperation.
Chick Update:
Our chicks have been growing nicely, with five chicks hatching in total. The children loved observing them this week — a wonderful real-life lesson about life cycles. Today they are being returned to the farm, where they will continue to grow.
