π Another Amazing Week at Mighty Mossy! π
π Acorn Class
In English, we’ve been using WellComm to explore irregular verbs βοΈπ, learning that we say “ran” instead of “runned” and “ate” instead of “eated”. The children did a fantastic job spotting and using the correct words! π
In Science, following on from last week’s lesson about where chocolate comes from π«π±, we explored other plants found in rainforests around the world π΄π and discovered why some of them can’t grow in Wrightington because of our climate. π¦οΈ
In Geography, we became rainforest animal experts! ππ¦π We researched where different animals live in the rainforest, what they eat, how big they are, and even learned their Latin names! ππ
In Art, we experimented with geometric shapes βοΈπΊπ to draw, cut, and create exciting compositions inspired by our artist focus, π¨ Beatriz Milhazes.
π³ Oak Class
In English, we continued the collecting phase of our Macbeth unit πβοΈ, innovating characters such as Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, and the witches π§βοΈβ¨. We also worked collaboratively using the Descriptosaurus π¦ to create adventurous vocabulary and powerful phrases to describe Dunsinane Castle and the Banquet Hall. π°π½οΈ
In History, we learned all about π Henry VIII and his six wives, discovering why having a male heir was considered so important during Tudor times. π
In Computing, we started creating Anansi characters π·οΈπ¬ and designing backgrounds ready for our exciting stop-motion animation project next week!
π² Forest Friday
This week’s outdoor adventure involved building mini dens πͺ΅π using natural materials from the Mossy wooded area. Teamwork and creativity were in full flow! π
