Year 1 have been learning about quarter and three-quarter turns, including left and right turns ๐Ÿ”„โฌ…๏ธโžก๏ธ Year R have been exploring the concepts of heavier and lighter โš–๏ธ๐Ÿชถ๐Ÿชจ

๐ŸŽจ Art:

We completed our final designs using geometric shapes ๐Ÿ”บ๐ŸŸฆโญ•, experimenting with layering and overlapping in the style of Beatriz Milhazes ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธโœจ

๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‰๐ŸŒ Science:

We tasted a variety of fruits grown in South America and other parts of the world ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒด We discussed why some fruits cannot be grown here due to our climate ๐ŸŒฆ๏ธโ„๏ธ and how fortunate we are to be able to import fruit throughout the year ๐Ÿšข๐Ÿ›’

๐ŸŒ Geography:

We compared life in England ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง with life in Brazil ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท, looking at the country as a whole and exploring “a day in the life” of a Brazilian schoolboy ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ“š

๐ŸŒณ Oak Class ๐ŸŒณ

๐Ÿ‘‘ History:

We learned all about the modern Royal Family – The House of Windsor ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง – with a particular focus on King Charles III. We linked this to our English work โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ“– and researched the benefits of having a Royal Family. We are now preparing to write persuasive letters ๐Ÿ’Œ to our MP, Ashley Dalton, about the importance of the monarchy. Next half term, we will also explore the other side of the debate โš–๏ธ๐Ÿ’ญ

๐Ÿงช๐Ÿ” Science:

We completed our classification unit by identifying and classifying organisms in our local area ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿž๐Ÿƒ

๐ŸŒฒโ˜€๏ธ Forest Friday:

We enjoyed the warmer weather at last with still life drawing โœ๏ธ and beautiful watercolour painting activities outdoors ๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒž
