Week Ending 15th March

* Acorn Class Update *

In literacy, we've been exploring alternate settings and characters for our stories, igniting our imaginations (riding on the back of a turtle across London … can you imagine !) Meanwhile, in maths, our EYFS students have been diving into the world of numbers, focusing on digits nine and ten. Year one has been reaching new heights, investigating length and height. We have compared the height of the children from last year to this year. They have certainly been eating their vegetables ! While Year two has been delving into the depths of volume and capacity.

In DT, we've been crafting captivating dioramas depicting the Great Fire of London, showcasing our creativity and knowledge. Such a super time in Acorn Class

* Oak Class Update *

What an incredible week it's been in Oak Class! We've been diving deep into learning and exploration, and the energy in the classroom has been absolutely electric! Here's a glimpse of the fantastic things happening in our classroom:

English Adventures: We've embarked on a thrilling journey through the pages of "Indian in the Cupboard" by Lynne Reid Banks. Our children are not just reading but also delving into the craft of storytelling, exploring how authors skilfully 'show not tell' the emotions of their characters. It's amazing to see their analytical skills and imagination soar!

Science Explorations: In our science lessons, we've started a fascinating new unit focusing on nutrition and healthy living. From understanding the different food groups to the importance of maintaining a balanced diet, our young scientists are soaking up knowledge like sponges. They're learning how to take care of their bodies for a healthier, happier life ahead.

PE Fun: Our PE sessions have been filled with rhythm and movement as we groove to the beats of Beyoncé's "This ain't Texas". The dance routine is not just about exercise; it's a celebration of freedom and expression, perfectly aligned with our theme for this half term, "Land of the Free".

Celebrating Success: We hit a milestone this week with 100 Dojo rewards earned by our fantastic children! They exercised their democratic rights by voting for their preferred reward, showcasing the British Value of Democracy in action. What an inspiring display of teamwork and decision-making!

No Photos, Just Hard Work: We apologise for the absence of photographs this week, but rest assured, it's because we've been fully immersed in our learning adventures! Every moment has been dedicated to igniting curiosity and fostering growth in our incredible Oak Class.
