Week Ending 18th July

A Wonderful Week at Mossy Lea!
It’s been another exciting and busy week across school, full of creativity, discovery, and fun!
Acorn Class
In English, we’ve been poets in the making! The children wrote and performed their very own acrostic poems all about Blackpool. We can’t wait to share them with you at the End of Term Assembly on Tuesday.
In DT, we wrapped up our unit by cooking delicious vegetarian nuggets using potatoes, broccoli and carrots – a tasty way to finish!
In Geography, we explored islands within the British Isles, learning more about the places that make up our part of the world.
Oak Class
Oak Class have been preparing for a slam poetry competition with their powerful and personal poems titled “This is Me”. These will also be performed at our End of Term Assembly – don’t miss them!
In Science, we became investigators, testing different materials with torches to discover the best option for a blackout blind – a great mix of fun and learning.
Whole School Highlights
On Wednesday, we had a special visit from Life Education and were thrilled to meet Harold the Giraffe in person! The children learned about gratitude, friendships, and how to make positive choices.
Thank you for another fantastic week, Mossy Lea – we can’t wait to celebrate all the hard work and talent at next week’s assembly!
