🌿 This Week at Mighty Mossy 🌿

Welcome everyone back to the second half of the Spring Term! Please keep an eye out for curriculum letters and homework menus, which have been sent home today.

Acorn Class have enjoyed a week full of discovery and creativity:
βš“ DT: The children investigated “Will it float or sink?”, testing materials and deciding which would be best for building boats ready for the upcoming Mossy Lea Boat Race.
🎡 Music: Acorns worked with Ross from Lancashire Music Service, learning to play the xylophones and exploring rhythm and melody.
🌼 Geography: The class went looking for signs of spring, observing seasonal changes around the school grounds.

Oak Class have begun exciting new learning journeys:
✏️ English: The children started their comic strip unit based on the African folktales of Anansi the Spider. They created their own comic strip for Anansi and the Yam Hills and shared their work with Acorn Class — wonderful storytelling and teamwork!
πŸ—ΊοΈ Geography: Oaks launched their African Adventure unit, using maps and atlases to locate the five regions of Africa and identify countries within them.
