* Acorn Class Update *

Our Paddington Bear unit concluded with a delightful letter to Aunt Lucy, detailing Paddington’s adventures in our homes! How could we finish without following Paddingtons' instructions for a perfect marmalade sandwich ! Exploding cauldrons during the hook lesson were magically handled, ensuring no frog transformations!

Reception's maths journey involved mass, capacity, and exciting seesaw activities with scales. Their superb measuring skills came into action when they followed instructions to make their play dough. Year one used number bonds knowledge to help with addition and subtraction, whilst year 2 were super spotters in group recognition and addition; prep for multiplication and division.

Finally, funky finger Friday has been the perfect way to end a spectacular week.

 

* Oak Class Update *

This week in Oak class was filled with engaging activities!

The week began with an assembly linked to our Geography work - Is fashion important? We delved into the world of fast fashion and promoting eco-friendly practices such as passing down clothes that no longer fit us, donating to charity shops and selling on sites such as Vinted. Geography lessons focused on efficiency and conservation, with children examining their home's energy and water usage, brainstorming ways to make positive changes.

In English, our budding writers began a captivating non-fiction unit inspired by the "Shirt Machine" film, identifying the main features in an explanation text.

French class brought joy as the children enthusiastically performed a catchy song about the days of the week – très bien!
