Literacy Hook Lesson: Exploring London Adventures Last week, the Literacy Hook lesson took our little adventurers on quite the journey through London! From dinosaurs to toads, pearls, and even marmalade sandwiches, the children were buzzing with excitement, confident that our unit was London-based. However, as they delved deeper into the lesson, a curious question arose: What part could a lion play in our adventure? It's amazing to see our young learners' minds exploring the possibilities and connections within our literary adventures. We kicked off the week with an exhilarating introduction to our new topic - "The Land of the Free," centered around the vibrant culture and geography of the United States of America . Our school entrance hall was transformed into a mini America, adorned with Star-Spangled Banner flags and captivating cityscape photographs, accompanied by the iconic tunes of Elvis Presley's "Viva Las Vegas." The children were thrilled by the immersive experience!

In mathematics, our older students in Years Five and Six have embarked on an engaging journey into decimals, while our younger mathematicians in Years Three and Four are nearing the culmination of their fractions unit, showcasing some remarkable progress along the way.

Geography sessions have been equally riveting as our students honed their map-reading skills using atlases and globes to identify North American countries and their capital cities, all while exploring the surrounding oceans.

Moreover, we've commenced an exciting collaboration with Chorley SSP for PE, delving into outdoor and adventurous activities. From map-reading to body spelling, our students have embraced the challenges with enthusiasm and determination, exemplifying teamwork and resilience.
