Week Ending 1st December

*Acorn Class Update*

In Maths, our reception children have been using their 1234 skills to measure ingredients for some delightful cakes—stay tuned for the tasty outcome next week! Year Two champions have conquered their addition and subtraction unit in Maths, while in Literacy, we're crafting our own stories inspired by 'Hop-toads and Pearls.'

Design and Technology adventures continue as we ensure the safety of the three little pigs with our finalised models. Historical explorations have taken us to the past, investigating toys, and sparking creativity for toys of the future.

Well done to our Year 2 PE stars who shone at the Chorley SSP gymnastic festival, showcasing their skills on the beam and bars!

*Oak Class Update*

We kicked off with the grand reveal of our Christmas play, sparking joy and enthusiasm amongst the children as they dove into scripts and songs. In English, we delved into the powerful poetry of World War I, starting with Wilfred Owen's moving piece, "Dulce et Decorum Est." Witnessing the students connect with the emotive language was truly inspiring. Our history lessons transported us to the role of Commonwealth countries in supporting Great Britain during World War II, seamlessly blending with geography as we located these nations on the map. Over in PE, the students showcased their gymnastics prowess, skilfully weaving together routines for an upcoming performance. The anticipation is building for the big reveal!
