Week Ending 19th April

* Acorn Class *

It's been an exciting week in our classroom! We kicked off the term with a special letter from none other than Peter Rabbit himself, who's lost a piece of clothing and needs our help to find it! Meanwhile, in maths, our EYFS children have been diving into the world of 3-D shapes using bubbles to visualise the transition from 2-D to 3-D. And in Year Two, we've embarked on a fraction adventure, starting with the exploration of 1/2 and 1/4. Plus, our budding artists embraced the glorious Spring weather in Mossy Meadow, studying Flora for our new art topic.

* Oak  Class *

What an incredible first week back it's been in Oak Class! We kicked off the week with an unexpected surprise as the children walked into what seemed like an art gallery setup! Curiosity sparked, questions flew, and soon we unveiled our thrilling half-termly topic: "The History of Art"! Throughout the half term, we will be embarking on a fascinating journey through time, exploring various art periods and styles. The Art Gallery will come to life with the children's own pieces of art work. The highlight? Creating a colossal timeline where each stroke of creativity finds its place. Our journey isn't just confined to art; it's a cross-curricular adventure! In collaboration with English, History, and Art, our children will write non-chronological reports, delving deep into the essence of each historical period studied. Meanwhile, over in the realm of numbers, our Years 3 and 4 children dove into the world of money! With real-life coins and scenarios as their guides, they honed their mathematical prowess with enthusiasm and flair. As we wrap up this whirlwind of a week, we encourage you to extend the learning beyond the classroom. Next time you're out shopping, why not let your child take the reins? Engage them in real-world scenarios to reinforce their newfound skills and watch their confidence soar!
